Spooktalkular Episode 048
I can finally say, we’re back. The show tonight was more classic Spooktalkular. Our Spooky Groupies are back. We had a blast!!! Busy. busy show. We talk about the Parawards so if you haven’t voted yet, head to www.spooktalkular.com/parawards and vote today. Voting has been very brisk. Laura shares some Haunted Headlines with us, during which we discuss the remake of ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street‘. It looks promising. Here’s the original trailer from 1984. And now for your viewing pleasure, the 2010 trailer. Thanks to our good friend Patrick for sharing via Twitter that on this day in 1644, the first US UFO sighting happened in Boston, Mass. If you’re not following Patrick on Twitter, you should be. MovieDan will be premiering his new podcast this week over at http://www.srnlive.com/ so head over and check it out! Spooktalkular loves MovieDan!
Thanks to our good friend Richard turning us onto Methodic 1.5, we check it out and we LOVED it! Chris .R. Notarile does it again. The Dollman is alive and better than ever. Check out Methodic 1.5 free on Youtube.
Frank had the chance to meet Kyle Lovern, author of Appalachian Case Study: UFO Sightings, Alien Encounters and Unexplained Phenomena this past weekend along with his publisher Keith Davis from Woodland Press at a local book signing. Book is great and we’re working to get Kyle on the show sometime.
Our Independent Music Break featured the song ‘Hide’ by the group Groundmower.
Laura tells us about some of the paranormal shows from this past week. Paranormal State was particularly interesting. Ryan was a little rough with his team. Looks like Steve from GH: Academy may have come competition for Paranormal Jerk next year.
Speaking of GH: Academy, back on December 12th, we posted a story about Jane Riley from GH: Academy possibly being censored on some stuff she posted on Hulu. That story grabbed a little attention this week so we discuss it a little. We also talk about Kris Williams acting career before Ghost Hunters. Yea, you didn’t misread it. She acted before she got her current acting gig. I hope she was better acting in her previous roles than she is acting like a paranormal investigator.
We round out the show with a rant on the current state of paranormal entertainment. The concept of what would make a good paranormal show and the Ghost Hunters Community vs the Ghost Hunting Community. And yes, they are very different. As always, thanks for listening!

Very enjoyable show folks, as always. Great to hear that the Parawards are doing so well and looking forward to the day when the results are in and knowing how my choices ranked against those of other people’s. Additional kudos for pointing out Methodic 1.5 to me as I didn’t even know it existed. I loved Methodic and am looking forward to checking this out.
I have to say I was somewhat disappointed that Frank didn’t treat us to another impression of Derek Acorah which was a high point of the last show for me, heck, make it a regular feature lol
Keep it spooky!

I’m hoping the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street will be good, but it won’t be the same as the original films. Oops, that was a knee-jerk reaction! (hint, hint SFX magazine).
You certainly had plenty going on in this Spooktalkular! I pressed play on Tuesday to see how long the show is (1 hour and 28 minutes), and was surprised again because I was expecting it to be over two hours long, as long as the Spooktalkular show with the record for the longest time – 2 hours and 45 minutes (nearly as long as the shorter version of Dances With Wolves).
