Spooktalkular is an Internet podcast hosted by husband and wife team Frank and Laura.  The show first aired in July of 2008 to discuss paranormal topics ranging from ghost hunting television shows to UFOs and just about everything in between.  The show is netcast live on Sunday nights at 6:00PM Eastern at www.spooktalkular.com.  Immediately after the live netcast, archives are available on iTunes, by RSS feed or directly from the website at www.spooktalkular.com.

Again, incredible night.  Thanks to everyone, especially MissBree29 for everything.  As promised during the show, the link for the Nick Groff interview is http://www.spooktalkular.com/2009/07/20/spooktalkular-episode-026/.  Be gentle, keep in mind, that was 27 episodes ago.  I’d like to think we’ve gotten a little better.  ;)

Our good friend Mark Hayden won “My Bloody Valentine” in the February “I Heart My Bloody Valentine” contest.  Thanks to all that entered!  Look for an awesome new contest to be announced soon!

Tonights Independent Music Break featured the music “We Are One” by Dash the Assassin!

    Fix!!! ;)

I enjoyed listening to that podcast. It was different with it being on a Friday night. A bit like the last two Sunday night live shows, but they have been a different experience because I was able to join in with the live chat during the live show. Sorry I wasn’t able to be there for the Parawards, but it was 1 am over here.

I was gobsmacked by what percentage of the vote Methodic and Most Haunted got. It beggars belief why Paranormal Activity got that many votes. Did people buy/fall for the hype machine behind the movie? Who knows. All I can say is Methodic is one of the best horror films of recent years. Most Haunted has a big following, but I’m guessing that the majority of people voting in the Parawards were from the US. I agree that there needs to be a revision of some of the award categories, because the US shows had an unfair advantage.

  • Mark Hayden:

Superb show, incredibly enjoyable. I was absolutely flabbergasted to see Paranormal Activity carry off the coveted award for best movie. I accept that one man’s meat is another man’s poison but it was a hackneyed script with all the gravitas of a work of creative writing essay for secondary school. The performances were phoned in, the narrative (what bit of one there was) was unsatisfying…I could go on lol

Such a shame that the British shows didn’t get a look in but with such a sizeable number of votes coming from US viewers that makes perfect sense I guess.

I just wish I could have been in the chatroom to exclaim my horror at Paranormal Activity winning but next time eh?

A superb job done by all and I can’t wait till next year and I promise I shall mobilise the British and get them voting as well next time.

  • I was rather surprised myself. I do agree that the UK shows were at an disadvantage. Next year we’ll break out Non-US shows to make it a little more fair. I really expected Methodic to do much better. Its another one that really needed to be in its own category.

This year was a learning experience so next year will be MUCH better.

  • Alex:

Great show!! Surprised by a couple winners, but overall pleased with the winners. Sorry I could not join, but I’ll be back March 14th! Thanks! ;D

  • Wave_Crest:

Found out today in the TV Times, that on the same night of the next live show (Sunday 14th) an hour long programme about Jack the Ripper and the US is being shown in the UK at 10 pm that night.

  • I liked this episode, I forgot to comment.

But I really wish you could have an option to vote blank as well. As I had only opinions on the TV and movie categories, but the paranormal reality series, I know nothing about so that’s why I didn’t vote.

However, I wished that Medium would win :(
