Spooktalkular Episode 057

We were joined tonight by our great friend Jake Wheat.  Jake tells us all about the CD “Stomp Out Cancer Volume 2: Hope” which all proceeds benefit Stomp Out Cancer and Ewing’s Sarcoma Research.  You will be hearing songs from the CD featured on our Independent Music Breaks over the next few months.  While Jake was here, we also talked about his other project, ‘The Waverly Hills Sanatorium Audio Experience” and “Stomp Out Cancer: Volume 1“.  It was an incredible hour and we hated for it to be over.  Actually, when we stopped recording, we kept talking for quite a while afterwards. ;)

Before Jake joined us, we talked about the new ABC series ‘Happy Town‘ which we plan on covering when it starts up on April 30th.  You can watch the first 14 minutes on ABC’s site.  It looks GREAT!!!  We can’t wait.  We’re planning to make it our guilty pleasure this year. ;)

As we mentioned, tonight’s Independent Music Breaks were from the CD “Stomp Out Cancer Volume 2: Hope” which you can find on iTunes.  We played the songs ‘Stronger’ by Public Symphony and ‘Emory’ by Heros and Madmen.  Remember, all proceeds from all the CDs benefit Ewing’s Sarcoma research.

Thanks for listening!

  • Welcome back from your Easter break and you were both in fine form. A great interview with Jake! I have to say I am a proud owner of the The Waverly Hills Sanatorium Audio Experience and found it to be a superb production. I am familiar with the place due to the sheer volume of paranormal shows that have featured it as a vigil location but as a Limey the chances are that I will never visit. The CD allows you, as near as damn it, to feel part of the experience of traipsing through the sanatorium and that is no mean feat. Superbly done and worth checking out.

I have to say I am looking forward to Happy Town. It has all the hallmarks of being Harper’s Island 2.0 and as I was absolutely gripped by that I hope this has the same effect.

Another great show folks and thanks for keeping it spooky!

  • A fine show, always fun listening to a live show and being a spooky groupie in the chat room.

    Cheers from Iceland!

  • The music video I mentioned in the podcast for “Stronger” by Public Symphony is located at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DqsE4TWpck

    :) Enjoy!

  • Wave_Crest:

One of the most enjoyable editions of Spooktalkular that I’ve listened to. The interview with Jake Wheat was very informative, certainly interesting and down to earth (one of the reasons why I like listening to Spooktalkular).

Anther reason why I enjoy the podcasts are the new TV shows, films and music I discover. Happy Town sounds very good, and if it’s anything like Harper’s Island (which was one of my favourite new TV shows in 2009) then it will be memorable (for all the right reasons). Fingers crossed the show makes it’s way over to the UK on TV, and also to DVD.
