From The “Unring The Bell” File
After making it about half way through the latest Ghost Hunters Academy, I decided to do a quick search for GHA on Twitter. I noticed a post about the possibility of Jane Riley being an actress which, I have to admit, perked up my ears since I am always looking for the full story of everything. I went on to search futher when I Googled Jane Riley Ghost Hunters Academy and got the following:
Now, if you notice, the first return is Hulu and the second under it says that Jane rated herself 5 out of 5 stars. Nothing ticks me off more than self serving ratings. That is why you will never see a review from Laura or myself about Spooktalkular. Needless to say, I was curious so I clicked and got a message that the page couldn’t be found.

This screams to me that someone had posters remorse and deleted it after they posted which, perks my ears even more.
Well, fortunately, in the world that is the Internets, nothing is ever truly deleted, so thanks to the Google cache of the page, all is safe. I was not prepared for the comments that little Jane left for her fans. She does not seem to be a happy person with the show or how she was edited. She speaks to being verbally abused by Steve Gonsalves and being filmed when she started crying. This doesn’t surprise me. Steve comes off as someone who could be one of the biggest jerks ever especially on GHA. Shoot, you can almost watch his ego grow by the minute on camera.
Here are the screen captures of the posts. I’m betting she posted those comments, then, she got a call from someone at Pilgrim Television suggesting that she delete the comments.
Remember folks, this is a TV show.
Enjoy and please, by all means, comment!
Spooktalkular Episode 044
Short TV week due to Thanksgiving but we had some good talks about ‘Ghost Adventures’ and ‘Ghost Hunters Academy’ none the less. We also briefly talk about a cool independent project we were turned on to named ‘Judith: The Night She Stayed Home‘ and the film ‘A Mannequin In Static’ both by Josh Hasty. We also talk about the cool house in North Carolina that is a replica of the Myers house from the original ’Halloween’.
This week, our Independent Music Break featured ‘Chaos Engine’ from the band Tenpenny Joke. Remember to support independent music.
Jonathan Farrell joins us to talk about Paranormal Investigation and his site Perception9 Paranormal. Awesome interview. Laura solo’d it and it turned out great. Jonathan was incredibly interesting.

Spooktalkular Halloween 2009 Show
We had a great time doing the Halloween show. We were joined by some of the “Spooky Groupies” in chat. We played the stories by Alex and Patrick but could not decide on a winner of the Spooky Story Contest so, we decided to award both of them the prize. That prize will be a copy of the ‘Waverly Hills Sanatorium Audio Experience’. Congratulations on a couple of great stories.
After the contest, we went in to the Houdini Seance. We grabbed it from archive.org, the Internet Archive where it’s in the Public Domain.

Spooktalkular Episode 035
Wow, great, LONG show. We had a blast in the live chat tonight with the Spookchatties! We covered a lot of ground this week. First, we recapped our visit to the 8th Annual Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant, WV. Then, we read our very first entry in the Spooky Story contest. It was “Unca Aygin” by Patrick from Missouri.
We had a very special Extended Independent Music Break featuring a great interview with Matt Dauzat and Heather St. Marie from the band Hydrovibe. Thier CD ‘Nothing Left To Lose‘ releases tomorrow on September 29th. After the interview, we take a listen to the single ‘Fame’ from the CD. Awesome band. This is one of the few CDs that I just couldn’t stop listening to.
We hit TV fairly hard tonight. We start off with a visit from Emily with ‘The Light: A Ghost Wisperer Podcast’ to recap the season premier of ’Ghost Whisperer’. From there, we hit ‘Ghost Hunters’, ‘Mystery Quest’, ‘Destination Truth’, ‘Medium’ and finish up with ‘Harper’s Island’ where we have an extra special treat. We sat down recently and talked with Anna Mae Routledge who played Kelly, the tattooed Goth Girl. We had a blast! She was a sweetheart. Anna Mae told us quite a few little tidbits about the death process on ‘Harper’s Island’ and just the experience in general. Look for Anna Mae in the upcoming movie ‘2012‘, ‘Amazon Falls‘ and, of course, ‘Harper’s Island’.

Spooktalkular Episode 034
Another fun live episode is done. We had a great time chatting with the “Spookchatties” as always. This week, we feature an interview with Emily from ‘The Light: A Ghost Wisperer Podcast’. We take a listen to the trailers from the movie ‘Paranormal Activity‘ and ‘Transylmania: The Movie‘.
In the world of Television, we take a look at Episodes 5 and 6 of ‘Harper’s Island’ along with the premier episode of ‘Mystery Quest’ on the History Channel.
This week’s Independent Music break features the awesome independent band from Alabama, Eyes Around and the song ‘Bloodshot America’. Check them out on Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/4403349
Be sure to support ‘Methodic’ by Chris R. Notarile who was on the show a while back telling everyone about the movie.
As always support Independent Media!

Slight delay on E20
Due to severe thunderstorms and a few other little nasties, we’re pushing Episode 20 back to tomorrow. Look for it around 11:00PM tomorrow night.
Episode 18 Delay
Normally today would be the day we would release episode 18. Laura has been fairly sick this week and has no voice (no, it’s not swine flu…
) so we’re going to put this episode off a couple of days. Take advantage of this to download some of the older episode and catch up.
First Annual Spooktalkular Ghost Hunt Promo
The mock promo that we ran on last weeks show was such a hit, we just added them to the Spooktalkular Promo Player on the left side of the screen. Just hit Play and check out that promo along with two other favorites. As always, enjoy!
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
A fitting line I believe, courtesy of the great William Shakesphere. We continue to get comments about the “Ghost Hunters” fraud accusation video done by MovieDan. Most of the comments we get are far from supportive of our favorite ghost hunting duo.
One overall theme to the comments is the great lengths that Jason and Grant, along with their team, go to in an attempt to portray that they are “debunking” the evidence they find where ever possible. This is what seems to set most people off. If they are claiming that they have debunked the claims, then how could they have missed these obvious flaws?
Here at Spooktalkular, we continue not to pass judgement one way or another. We thankfully just share this information and leave it to you, our faithful listener/reader to make up your own minds. With that said, if you are not familiar with Occam’s Razor, and you enjoy the paranormal, then take a few minutes and read up on it. The principle behind it states that the explanation of any phenomenon should make as few assumptions as possible. In other words, all other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best.
I’m not saying that we should view everything as a fake but if we find ourselves making multiple excuses to explain how something can’t be a fake, well, maybe it is just that, a fake. That’s not just for television but, as paranormal investigators, or at the very least, hobbyists we should take that to heart as well.
As for Spooktalkular, we’ll be doing a show tomorrow evening and try to get it uploaded before Tuesday morning.
