Spooktalkular Season 3 Episode 09 (E72)
Welcome to Spooktalkular 2011. We were hoping to have Brian Harnois on this week but in a Spooktalkular First, he was a no-show. Here’s the Twitter conversation where I thought we had it set up.
So who knows…. Still a fun show. We talked about the Planet Macabre and Creepture Feature Horror Show podcasts. We then headed into a discussion about the dead birds that have been happening around the world. After that, what would be fitting for Classic Cinema but the Alfred Hitchcock thriller “The Birds”. During our discussion, we also talked about Jaws and the Jaws game from the 70′s. A quick search turned up this link with a picture of the game. http://gedblog.com/2009/06/01/you-know-for-kids-2/
Our Independent Music Break featured the song ‘Knots’ by a cool band out of Florida named Seven Years Past. Great sound with a strong female lead. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/sevenyearspastfl or follow them on twitter at https://twitter.com/#!/sypband
We had some audio problems with the live feed at the beginning of the show. At the suggestion of everyone in the chat room, we left it all in. ;) Enjoy!

Spooktalkular Season 3 Episode 08 (E71)
It was good to be back tonight. We had a busy night. We had a fairly lengthy discussion about the recent Wikileaks controversy. We then moved into some lighter territory with our Classic Cinema pick this week which was the 1974 hit ‘Black Christmas‘. We rounded out the show with a discussion on ‘The Walking Dead‘. The book I am waiting for is The Walking Dead: Compendium One.
A couple of the Must Check Out things we mentioned tonight were the Planet Macabre podcast and, our great friend Greg’s podcast The Creepture Feature Horror Show. Give them both a listen, we’re sure you’ll love them.
We’ll be off air for the next couple of weeks for the holidays but in our absence, we’ll be rebroadcasting some classic ‘Ghostly Talk‘ with a couple of our favorites.
Have a Happy Holiday!

New podcast to check out
Hey Spooky Groupies! It’s my birthday so no live show tonight. We’ll be back next Sunday on the 19th. As everyone who listens to the show knows, we’re huge fans of the Creepture Feature Horror Show Podcast for two reasons. It’s an awesome show with great content and Gregamortis and Miss Mystery are super nice folks. Well, Gregamortis is a contributor to a new podcast named Planet Macabre. I’m about 45 minutes into the first episode and it’s great! Check it out!
Spooktalkular Season 3 Episode 07 (E70)
Another Episode is behind us. We took on two awesome movies tonight. First, our Classic Cinema featured ‘Westworld’ from 1973. Man what a classic it is too. Great movie, Laura and I both gave it 9 Pottsies. For our feature discussion, we take on the recent horror movie ‘The Human Centipede: The First Sequence‘. Incredibly disturbing but again, Laura and I both loved it. 9 Pottsies for it as well.
To round out the show, we jump into a discussion of the first two episodes of the AMC Original Series ‘The Walking Dead’. Another great episode but sadly, only three remain. Or should I say, “Sweet Three Remain”?
During our Independent Music Break, we featured more music from the album “Stomp Out Cancer Presents: Musicians Fight Ewing’s Sarcoma, Vol. 2 Hope” with Katrina Carlson’s‘Count On Me’. Just a reminder that all proceeds from the album are donated to fight to cure Ewing’s Sarcoma.
No show next week due to the holiday. We’ll be back on December 5th. Have a great two weeks.

Spooktalkular Season 3 Episode 06 (E69)
As you can see, we’ve change our naming scheme a little. In addition to the overall episode number, we’re breaking it down by season and episode as well. Tonight’s episode was a fun one. We visit a little Classic Cinema with a ride on the 1980 Movie ‘Death Ship‘ provided by our good friend Richard. Laura and I both gave it a 3 and a half Pottsie rating.

After break, we jump into a discussion of the first two episodes of the AMC Original Series ‘The Walking Dead’. We really liked the show. It shows great promise and we can’t wait to see where the remaining four episodes of season one go.

Spooktalkular Episode 068
Halloween is upon us once again which means that it’s time for the Second Annual Spooktalkular Halloween Show. Laura pretty much solos this one since Frank is busy cramming for an exam this week. The Halloween Contest winner is announced and, the three spooky story entries are read. The Houdini Seance has become a mainstay of our yearly celebration and this year is no exception. We end the show with our playing of it. Please everyone, have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Regular listeners to Spooktalkular are very familiar with our GREAT friend Jake Wheat. Spooktalkular Episode 067
Wow, another fun show is behind us. Few technical problems only because I suck as a tech guy. Kenny Caperton joined us tonight to tell us about the Halloween Bash at the Myer’s House NC scheduled for Halloween. Sounds like a great time. In addition to the bash, Kenny catches us up on what has been going on around the house.
Remember the listener story submissions. Running through the month of October. Also remember the trivia question that Laura announced during the first part of the show.
The Independent Music break featured more sounds from the album Stomp Out Cancer: Musician’s Fight Ewing’s Sarcoma Presents – HOPE. Tonight’s song was by The Sheds and is titled “Only Way Out Is Through”. It was written for a friend of the band that was going through chemo.

Spooktalkular Episode 066

***** WARNING ***** Please pay attention to the graphic content warning at the beginning of the show. This is not one of our kinder/gentler shows so please consider yourself warned. Grab the headphones as you see fit.
Ustream was toast tonight so our apologies to everyone who had joined us for the live show. I will be looking for streaming hosts this week. Well, the 2010 9th Annual Mothman Festival is finished and we had a blast (with one exception). Join us as we recap the good, the bad and the ugly. Our hope is that after this show, we’ll be invited back to host again because, all things said, we did have fun and love the festival.
Our Classic Cinema tonight featured the movie “Fire In the Sky” based on the true story of Travis Walton. Check it out, we’re sure you’ll like it.

It was a little harsher show tonight than normal but, not as bad as if we had done one last Sunday night. We hope you enjoy.
I did change the bitrate on this one to try to make it a bit smaller. Normally we encode at 64bits. Tonight’s show was encoded at 32. Let me know if it was too low of a bitrate.

9th Annual Mothman Festival
We are back and slowly recovering from hosting the speaker forums at the 9th Annual Mothman Festival. Amazing time overall with one downside. Think Paradiva. Adding to the amazing time was when our great friend Jake Wheat, his partner Craig, his friend Greg and friend Kim all came down to hang with us on Sunday. Jake posted a great blog entry in his usual rich style. ;) Check it out, you’re sure to enjoy. Plus, just in case you’ve ever wondered what Laura and I look like, Jake has pictures. lol Be sure to join us Sunday night for a full recap of the good, the bad and the ugly.
