Spooktalkular Episode 031
Well, our second live show was great!!! We had a blast with Emily, Alex and TL in the chat room. Be sure to log on next Monday at 8:00 Eastern and join us. No Classic Cinema this week but we do take a look at the direct to DVD/Syfy movie ‘Dead Like Me: Life After Death‘.
We gained a new MySpace friend this week. The folks over at Wolf Creek Haunted Forest added us so we checked them out and they look like an awesome 77 Acre haunted attraction in Shepardsville, KY. Perfect stopover when you go to see ‘Evil Dead the Musical‘.
This week’s Independent Music Break features the return of Mr. James McLean from over at backtofrankblack.com with his song ‘Enigma’. Be sure to check out backtofrankblack.com if you haven’t already and see what you can do to help.

Spooktalkular Episode 030
We just finished our first actual live show. We had a few people drop by the chat room while we were on and we all had a blast. Special thanks to Emily, Jake and TLForman for stopping by. Live aside, episode 30 was awesome! We check out the movie ‘Evil Dead‘ for Classic Cinema in preparation for ‘Evil Dead the Musical’. Spooktalkular Episode 029
Well, this week is a bit of a little experiment. We give a live show a shot and, no surprise here, we screw it up pretty good. We knew we would which is why we didn’t promote it a lot. Hope you like it. We do an intro about the show in case someone is on who isn’t familiar with the show. Sadly, Frank ended up going to Waverly Hills Sanitorium without Laura so he tells us about it. We do a quick discussion of the movies ‘Orphan‘ and ‘Bone Dry‘. For television this week, Laura tells us about ‘Ghost Hunters International’, ‘Monster Quest’, ‘Ghostly Encounters’ and ‘Psychic Investigators’.
We round the show out with an awesome interview with John Warfield from the DC Metro Area Ghostwatchers. John tells us about the DCMAG group and their investigations of the Historic Jordan Springs.
Hmmm, after I look at it, the show was actually pretty good….
Next week should be a little more normal with our usual Classic Cinema and a treat for our Independent Music Break. We’re planning on shooting for a live show on Tuesday August 18th at 8:00PM Eastern. We should have the chat room up and running so we hope to see you then.

Spooktalkular Episode 027
We have what could be considered for some a treat but yet for others Hell on Earth. This week, we are doing a test run at a live show. What we mean is we’re not going to edit this week’s show but instead, record it in one take. I cringed hard and fought the urge to fire up Audacity and start cutting but we have to get used to it because when you’re live, there’s no retake.
With that said, a good episode. We start off with a quick reminder. If you’d like a chance to win a signed copy of one of M.R. Sellars first three books be sure to send an email to show at spooktalkular.com before the next Friday with the subject of “I Like Free Books”. On next week’s show we’ll announce the winners.
We take a peek at the new Peter Jackson film ‘District 9′ due out on August 14th. Cool trailer to listen to but even cooler to watch. You can check it out on the movies home page. Laura takes us into some Haunted Headlines for some interesting tidbits. From there, we visit Classic Cinema for a look back at the 1980 film ‘The Fog‘.
Heading into television, we take a look at ‘Monster Quest’, a great episode of ‘Ghost Adventures’, ‘Ghost Hunters International’ and what will be our last visit to ‘The Listener’ since NBC has pulled the plug on it.
All in all, great episode. Next week, interviews return.
This week’s Independent Music break is a great band out of Canada ‘The Wakening‘ with the cool song ‘Losing Control’! As always, we are proud to feature Independent bands and we urge everyone to be sure to support Independent Music.
Thanks for listening and see ya next week!

Spooktalkular Episode 025
Well, Episode 25 is quite a bit delayed but on next weeks show, you will find out why AND, you will agree it was well worth the delay. This week though, Spooktalkular turns one year old and we are celebrating. We reflect on the first year and hop in the wayback machine to visit the very first show. Have we ever changed….
As part of our reflection, we thank a great deal of the fine folks who have helped us over the past year. We have had so much help, it’s possible that we missed some people. If we missed you, we assure you it wasn’t intentional. The most important people to Spooktalkular are the incredible listeners. We thank you for your time, we know it’s valuable so the fact you give up your time to listen to what we do touches us greatly every week. Thank you!
We do briefly cover new shows this week from ‘MonsterQuest’, ‘Ghost Adventures’ and ‘The Listener’. It was also the season two premier of ‘Ghost Hunters International’ so we give them a quick visit as well.
This weeks Independent Music Break features a band out of Santa Cruz, California named the Devil Himself. Head over to http://www.myspace.com/devilhimselfmusic and check them out! The song is ‘Deserted’ and it rocks!
You often hear us talk about the fine group of people that are behind the effort to have a ‘Millennium’ movie made. James and Troy from backtofrankblack.com and the ‘Millennium Group Sessions’ podcast stop by to wish us Happy Birthday. It’s really a great time.
Okay, I can’t make you wait until next week. I’m just not that mean. The reason for the delay was a couple of last minute interviews that will be in next weeks show. To tie in with our ‘Harper’s Island’ wrap up next week, we have a special treat. Jim Beaver who played Sheriff Charlie Mills was great enough to take some time out of his busy schedule to chat with us. Now, if that’s not enough, we will also have an great interview from one of the Travel Channel’s hosts and investigators of ‘Ghost Adventures’, the incredible Nick Groff. See, I told you that you’d agree that the delay was worth it.

Spooktalkular Episode 023
We’ve got a little change this episode, we don’t have an interview. What we do have are discussions on two episodes of “MonsterQuest”, “Ghost Adventures” and a very spirited discussion on the last two episodes of “Harper’s Island”. This week we take a look at the 1960 film “Psycho” in Classic Cinema. If you listened to last weeks episode, you’ll know why.
During our Independent Music Break, we listen to “Century’s Out” from the band that James McLean from backtofrankblack.com was once a part of.
The fabulous writer M.R. “Murv” Sellars was good enough to send us some signed copies of his first three books. Listen next week for details on how you can make one of them yours.

Spooktalkular Episode 019
Sorry for the delay but we think it’s worth it. The holiday and just an inability to knock this thing out Tuesday really delayed us a bit. Even with the wait, this episode came out awesome!
First off, we talk about some of the paranormal news for the week. Here’s the summaries and the links.
NBC has canceled the psychic drama Medium. Fear not though, CBS in what could be an awesome stratgic move has picked it up and added it to the Friday night lineup. It will air between “Ghost Whisperer” and “Numb3rs” for a Psychic Friday of sorts. The only thing that could have made it better is including Harper’s Island. http://www.thedailynewsonline.com/articles/2009/05/24/entertainment/doc4a19a0b18c984111500068.txt
Our favorite two plumbers are heading back to Buffalo, New York for a fan ghost hunt of the Central Terminal. One fan reported paying 250.00 in order to ghost hunt with the professionals. And to think, she could have ghost hunted with Laura and Frank for a lot less. http://www.wkbw.com/news/local/45883312.html
Even with a rerun, CBS nails Friday night. “Ghost Whisperer” grabbed nearly 6 million viewers. http://tvbythenumbers.com/2009/05/23/friday-ratings-cbs-wins-how-might-dollhouse-have-done/19355 However, CBS didn’t fair as well Saturday night. ABC picked up the win with a game. http://tvbythenumbers.com/2009/05/24/saturday-ratings-lakers-vs-nuggets-wins-easily/19363
“Ghost Whisperer” season one cast member Aisha Tyler is about to take on a new talk show role. She’ll be hosting the ABC show “The Aisha Tyler Show” where viewers can interact with her by Twitter and Facebook. Shoot, the podcast community has been doing that from the beginning. http://www.buddytv.com/articles/ghost-whisperer/former-ghost-whisper-star-aish-28899.aspx
Fort Mifflin appears to be back on sound financial footing. The fort was the scene of a horrible bombardment in 1777 during the Revolutionary War but the true battle lately had been paying the bills. Several in the paranormal community had taken up the cause and as of this article, they are in good shape. The director credits the paranormal investigations and Boy Scout overnights with the successful refilling of the coffers. http://www.philly.com/inquirer/entertainment/20090522_Fort_Mifflin_s_victory_over_money_troubles.html
Then we head into a great discussion from Laura on “Medium” and from there, a hillarious discussion of the season finale of “Paranormal State”. We finally get the missing “MonsterQuest” episode about the “Mysterious Ape Island”. Next, we head into “UFO Hunters” and wrap the show up with a really in-depth discussion of the latest “Harper’s Island”. It’s worth mentioning that we found a cool website for Harper’s Island. Be sure to check out www.harpersisland.tv for details.
Be sure to let us know your categories and nominees for the Spooktalkular listener choice awards.
