Spooktalkular returns with a little edgier show than normal.  No, this isn’t going to be the norm, we just went where the material led us today.
Frank takes a rant out on Ghost Hunters Academy.  We discuss ‘The Haunted’, ‘Psychic Kids’, and a Jack the Ripper special on the Discovery Channel.  We also have a lengthy discussion on a recent ‘Paranormal State’ episode.  Our independent music break featured ‘Chaos Engine’ by TenPenny Joke
All in all, a great, fun show.  It’s good to be back!

Busy night tonight. We start off talking about the cool upcoming Hydrovibe tour.  There was an interesting article over on SciFake about Certifying Paranormal Investagtors??? Check it out at scifake.com.  Laura talks a little ‘New Moon’ since she went to the midnight showing on opening night.  We hit our usual assortment of Television with ‘Ghost Hunters: Academy’ and ‘Ghost Hunters’ which brings us to the latest controversy to come to light. Donna Lacroix does a “tell all” interview with the Ghost Divas Podcast. It calls into question, issues of faking the evidence, the mistreatment of Brian and even poor treatment of women in general. We also touch on Ghost Lab and Ghost Adventures. We then get into a fairly involved discussion on the latest Jack the Ripper special where he comes to America.

We round the show out with an awesome interview that Laura did with Sergio from the band Mandinga. They did some of the music from the movie Transylmania which opens on December 4th.  During the interview, we hear two songs. The song ‘Bite Me‘ is from the movie. The other song is Goochie.

Tonight, we returned to a little more typical Spooktalkular, if there is such a thing. First of all, out ghost has a name. It’s Pottsie!

We start out by taking our normal looks at ‘Ghost Adventures’ and ‘Ghost Hunters’. Laura does an in-depth discussion of the ‘Mystery Quest’ that dealt with Jack the Ripper. We also talk about the brand new series. ‘Ghost Hunters: Academy’

During our break, we check out some music from the awesome band AMORIC. The name if the song is ‘Only For You’.

The second half of the show, we check out an incredibly interesting interview that we did with Eric Espejo and Aaron Goodmiller from 19th and Wilson Productions.  They talk to us about their new picture named ‘Ghosts Don’t Exist’.  We love the trailer and everything we have learned about the movie so far.  We here at Spooktalkular have another reason to like the movie.  Our good friend Troy from over at The Millennium Group Sessions Podcast.

Another incredibly fun episode. Tonight we talk about the sad news of an indefinite hiatus from the incredible folks over at Ghostly Talk. ScottL, Doug and Bonnie have produced a first class show now for almost 8 years. Ghostly Talk is the rule by which the rest of independent paranormal podcast/radio should be judged. Guys, we’ll miss you and anxiously await your return! We also talk a little about some of the upcoming format changes here at Spooktalkular. As we’ve mentioned, we’re planning on going a little deeper into some serious paranormal topics. We start that off next week with a very special guest live, the incredibly interesting Marie D. Jones who will be talking all things 2012 with us.

As for this week, we dissect ‘Paranormal Activity‘. Be warned, if you haven’t seen it, we do a fairly lengthy discussion on it with an unlimited supply of spoilers. In a nutshell, we loved the concept but really feel more could have been done with it. After that, we talk some TV with ‘Ghost Hunters’, ‘Destination Truth’ and ‘Mystery Quest’.

Our Independent Music Break featured the song Oxygen from the incredibly talented Erica Shines. Be sure to pick up Erica’s album ‘I Will Wait For You’ over at CDBaby and always support independent music!

We round out the show with a wrap up of episodes 12 and 13 of ‘Harper’s Island’ and replay the Jim Beaver interview we did a few months back.

Another awesome love show! We had a blast chatting with the Spookchattie’s tonight. Another name has been proposed… The Spooky Groupies. I like em both.  We intro the Spooktalkular YouTube channel.  So far, only the Mothman Hayride video from us…  But look for more.  We also talk about our format change of moving towards more serious paranormal topics.

Where to start, it was a busy episode. We started out with a cool interview with Alex Price who played Gilbert on the hit BBC series ‘Being Human‘.

From there, we head into our television coverage with a surprising newcomer this week, ‘South Park’ and the episode ‘Dead Celebrities‘ where our paraplumbers Jay and Grant get parodied in awesome form. You really know you’ve arrived when you’re spoofed on ‘South Park’! From there, we hit into ‘Ghost Hunters’, ‘Destination Truth’ and ‘Mystery Quest’. We also discuss the new show ‘Ghost Lab’. So far, we agree that we really like the personalities of the brothers but it’s really nothing new as far as format. We’ll discuss it more in the coming weeks.

We also talk about the upcoming ‘Ghost Adventures’ Live event at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum where the ‘Ghost Adventures’ Crew will be spending the night on October 30 starting at 8:00PM ET. Looks awesome!

Our Independent Music Break featured the song ‘Now or Never’ from the band AG Silver!  Awesome sound and they seem like great people also.  Please support Independent Media of all forms!

We wrap up the show with a recap of ‘Harper’s Island’ episode 11, Splash.  The Cal/Chloe death scene is the best in the series!  The song used for that scene is ‘Letters From The Sky’ by Civil Twilight.  It’s availible for free for a limited time from iTunes.

Wow, number 36 down.  Really a fun episode.  We were joined in by the Spookchatties in the Chat room.  Swing by sometime and join us live.  We have a blast.  Laura shared some Haunted Headlines and we headed into TV.  Our good friend Emily couldn’t join us, Laura did the ‘Ghost Whisperer’ update.  From there, we headed into ‘Mystery Quest’, ‘Medium’ and ‘Destination Truth’.  Then, we covered the latest controversy surrounding the ‘Ghost Hunters’ by taking a quick listen to the latest video.  A water bottle has moved on it’s own.  Or has it?  Oddly enough, the window behind it moved also.  Check it out and let us know what you think.

Wow, great, LONG show.  We had a blast in the live chat tonight with the Spookchatties!  We covered a lot of ground this week.  First, we recapped our visit to the 8th Annual Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant, WV.  Then, we read our very first entry in the Spooky Story contest.  It was “Unca Aygin” by Patrick from Missouri.

We had a very special Extended Independent Music Break featuring a great interview with Matt Dauzat and Heather St. Marie from the band Hydrovibe.  Thier CD ‘Nothing Left To Lose‘ releases tomorrow on September 29th.  After the interview, we take a listen to the single ‘Fame’ from the CD.  Awesome band.  This is one of the few CDs that I just couldn’t stop listening to.

We hit TV fairly hard tonight.  We start off with a visit from Emily with ‘The Light: A Ghost Wisperer Podcast’ to recap the season premier of  ’Ghost Whisperer’.  From there, we hit ‘Ghost Hunters’, ‘Mystery Quest’, ‘Destination Truth’, ‘Medium’ and finish up with ‘Harper’s Island’ where we have an extra special treat.  We sat down recently and talked with Anna Mae Routledge who played Kelly, the tattooed Goth Girl.  We had a blast!  She was a sweetheart.  Anna Mae told us quite a few little tidbits about the death process on ‘Harper’s Island’ and just the experience in general.  Look for Anna Mae in the upcoming movie ‘2012‘, ‘Amazon Falls‘ and, of course, ‘Harper’s Island’.

Another fun live show!  We had a blast with a full house in chat tonight.  Laura shared some ‘Haunted Headlines’ including some awesome information from our friends over at www.backtofrankblack.com.  They have received word of some investor interest in a Millennium Movie!!!  Congrats to our great friends on their hard work.

Laura also detailed another contest of sorts.  We’re inviting our listeners to submit their stories to show@spooktalkular.com for reading on the show.  At the end of October, we’ll have the listeners vote on their favorite and we’ll award a to be determined prize.

We did some quick movies this week.  ‘Last House on the Left‘, ‘The Unborn‘ and for our Classic Cinema, we looked at ‘The Andromeda Strain‘.  We also mentioned a new movie that we just found out about named ‘Transylmania‘.

For TV this week, a quick visit to episodes 3 and 4 from ‘Harper’s Island’ along with ‘Ghost Hunters’ and ‘Destination Truth’ round out the show.

This episode’s Independent Music Break featured the incredible artist, Nyki Lindsay King from Canada with his song ‘Let Up’.

Sorry for the delay but we think it’s worth it. The holiday and just an inability to knock this thing out Tuesday really delayed us a bit. Even with the wait, this episode came out awesome!

First off, we talk about some of the paranormal news for the week. Here’s the summaries and the links.

NBC has canceled the psychic drama Medium. Fear not though, CBS in what could be an awesome stratgic move has picked it up and added it to the Friday night lineup. It will air between “Ghost Whisperer” and “Numb3rs” for a Psychic Friday of sorts. Our favorite two plumbers are heading back to Buffalo, New York for a fan ghost hunt of the Central Terminal. One fan reported paying 250.00 in order to ghost hunt with the professionals. “Ghost Whisperer” season one cast member Aisha Tyler is about to take on a new talk show role. She’ll be hosting the ABC show “The Aisha Tyler Show” where viewers can interact with her by Twitter and Facebook. Fort Mifflin appears to be back on sound financial footing. The fort was the scene of a horrible bombardment in 1777 during the Revolutionary War but the true battle lately had been paying the bills. Several in the paranormal community had taken up the cause and as of this article, they are in good shape. Then we head into a great discussion from Laura on “Medium” and from there, a hillarious discussion of the season finale of “Paranormal State”. I have to admit, this is probably one of the best shows that we’ve done so far.  After we give away an Hitchcock DVD, we start out with a great interview with Troy and Jim from over at backtofrankblack.com.  We had a blast and the audio quality is incredible.

After the interview, we hop on into television.  We check in with “Paranormal State”, “Ghost Hunters”, “Ghost Wisperer” and finish up with a good discussion of “Harper’s Island” including what we’re going to send CBS to get “Harper’s Island” back if they cancel it.  Laura promises to get the latest double episode of “Medium” watched so we can talk about it next week.  Sadly, we lost the latest “Monster Quest” before we got a chance to watch it.  If anyone has the Mysterious Ape Island episode of “Monster Quest”, let us know.  We’d love to see it.
